Judy & Paul {June 9, 2013} "My Girl"

We had the pleasure of filming Judy & Paul's wedding a couple weeks ago among some truly stellar professionals. We wanted to be able to share some of the great moments from the day, which lead us to create this highlight video. Please enjoy what you are about to watch, share this post if you feel the urge, and if you start to sing along with the video, we won't tell. (Music used with permission.)

You Can't Know Where You're Going Until You Know Where You've Been...

2012 was a great year for Photo & Video by Joe Goldsberry. We've truly been blessed to have met so many wonderful people who started out as clients and became friends. We are also very aware, as a small business, how lucky we are to have acquired so many wonderful clients. As we all enter 2013 together, we'd like to take a look back at some highlights from 2012. We hope we can make some of you smile, as many of you have made us smile, ear to ear. In 2012 we met a local Bon Jovi tribute band, Living on a Bad Name, and came out to photograph and film some of their shows. Here are a couple of our favorite photos of them, taken at an outdoor concert in Dartmouth, Mass.

We took a poll earlier in the year, and found that our FaceBook audience loves baby photos more than any other!

Some babies were just born to be cute... Maybe "steal the show".

Of course, when babies grow up, they become kids. Kids can make for some really great portraits. (They tend to take direction better than babies...)

Family photos are meant to last a life time, and this brother and sister will cherish this photo when they have kids of their own.

Traveling is something we do well, and we love looking back to see where that took us...

We photographed quite a few charity and community events. Here, we even got Billy Costa to tip his glass to us at a charity golf event at Pinehills Golf Club.

Another great community event we captured in 2012 was the Abington, Mass rededication ceremony for their 300th anniversary.

And we can't forget the weddings! This photo is our "most clicked" FaceBook photo. It was "liked" almost 150 times, and viewed well over 2,000 times.

Perfectly beautiful and oh so colorful brides maids!

We've photographed weddings of all sizes this past year, and one of the smallest took place at the Church Street Chapel in Whitman. Stacie and Justin had only a handful of family and friends witness their wedding, but this photo shows the love that filled the room.

We were also asked to photograph and film the same wedding, a first for us. The bride and groom, Debbie and Joe, could not have been happier with the outcome. With a beautiful traditional ceremony at The Christ Church in Plymouth, followed by a fun-filled ceremony in Norton, we managed to capture everything they asked for on both photo and video.

Of course we could go on and on, showcasing so many babies, kids, families, brides, grooms, people and places. But we'll wrap up this "look back" by showing you the highlight video from one of our most famous weddings of 2012. Deanna and CJ had their Easton Country Club wedding showcased on TLC's Four Weddings. This highlight video was our most shared blog post, shared 175 times on FaceBook.

Thank you, everyone who has supported Photo & Video by Joe Goldsberry in any way. Whether you're a past client, a 2013 client, or you clicked "like" on a FaceBook photo, we appreciate you, and we are so happy you are taking this journey with us!

Katie & Dan {Our Lady of Lourdes, Brockton, Massachusetts}

When people ask us "What is your best source of advertising?" the answer is always "word of mouth". Always. Katie & Dan were no exception. We filmed Katie's aunt's wedding back in 2005 at the same church Katie & Dan would be reciting their vows. When Katie & Dan announced their engagement, her Aunt Kathy had only one videographer in mind for her... and she brought them right over to our studio to meet. The rest is, as they say, history. A beautiful wedding, overflowing with family and friends is what followed, and here we share with you the trailer video with a peek at their vows in the always winsome Our Lady of Lourdes church.

{July 21, 2012} Taylor & Nathan: Smooth Sailing at Wychmere Beach Club!

Most brides can't wait to walk down the aisle. But when Taylor was escorted to her groom's side for their Wychmere Beach Club wedding in Harwichport, there would be none of that. She sailed over to her groom, with her dad and bridal party right by her side. A unique entrance for sure, and we will share that moment with you, captured forever in time, in this blog post. The whole day had a certain sui generis which lent itself to the people, the surroundings, and the excitement that encompassed all who were here to bear witness for Taylor & Nathan's vows as they began their life together as husband and wife.

Take, for example, the music you will hear playing as the bride sailed over to be given in marriage. The music was played by The Scorton Chamber Ensemble, and as you listen to the crisp, clean audio we captured from their musicians, take into consideration the song they choose for their processional. While they choose an instrumental version, think of these words as you watch the video: If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you. When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me. Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.

Have a look and a listen for yourself. We think you'll enjoy this short clip as much as we enjoyed filming Taylor & Nathan's whole wedding.

DeAnna & CJ {June 30, 2012} The "Four Weddings" wedding at Easton Country Club

The preparations were set and excitement was afoot at The Easton Country Club. After years in the making, and many months of planning, DeAnna and CJ's wedding day had arrived. The dream team was assembled, with Leigh Howlett as their in-house wedding planner extraordinaire providing special touches around every corner and food fit for a king and queen prepared by Russell Morin Fine Catering.

Yours truly was filming the day from start to finish, alongside the very talented Starlight Photography to capture every important moment.

Rob Peters from Rob Peters Entertainment was on hand to DJ, MC and provide all the entertainment for the evening. Add to the mix beautiful flowers from Green Akers Florist, and a cake that looks are great as it tastes by Artisan Bake Shop, and the day is almost complete...

There is one more detail... TLC's Four Weddings would be filming DeAnna and CJ's wedding for their 2012 Summer/Autumn season. Sure, there were extra camera people and sound people, and there were 3 extra guests (the other 3 brides from the show) in attendance. But they all blended in so well, I don't know that anyone even noticed them. What people did notice was the fabulous candy buffet set up by Leigh, the teal up lighting that matched the whole teal theme, a super fun photobooth, and the basket of flip-flops that the newlyweds provided to their guests so no one's dogs would be barking at the end of the night.

But don't take our word for it. Watch and see for yourself! We have assembled a highlight video that showcases dancing, smiling and good times had by all. You'll hear DeAnna and CJ's vows and DeAnna's aunt singing the vocals, you'll see the happiness that flows so freely, and you'll feel the love that brought not only DeAnna and CJ together, but also brought together two families who seem to be one. Let us know what you think...

Debbie & Joe {May 26, 2012} From Plymouth to Norton...

When we first met with Debbie and Joe, it was to discuss the videography for their wedding. They were dream clients who knew exactly what they wanted. They weren't sure about who they would hire for photography, and the DJ was still up in the air at this point, but they had their videographer.  :) We gave them a DJ referral to Big Daddy Ray at Rob Peters Entertainment, and that meeting went so well that they had their DJ by the end of that meeting. They were still undecided on a photographer, and had told Big Daddy Ray that they probably only wanted formal photos done. Big Daddy Ray gave them an idea... ask us to do the formal photos in addition to the wedding video. That idea was just crazy enough to work! And what we now present to you is the first wedding with photography and videography both done by Photo & Video by Joe Goldsberry.

We did more than just formals in the end, simply because we could. The ceremony was held at the Christ Church in Plymouth. This is a beautiful church rich in history. Reverend Fredrickson and the church wedding coordinator, Donna, could not have possibly been any more accommodating. The church is beautiful, inside and out, as you can see the inside...

A wonderful, heartfelt and tear evoking ceremony that ended with "you may kiss your bride" with family and friends to bear witness went just as perfectly as planned.

Did I mention the outside of the church is as beautiful as the inside?

After the ceremony, it was off to the reception at The Chateau in Norton. Nicole and all the staff were ready, willing and able to help the newlyweds celebrate in style.

Coming down the stairs from the bridal loft, the light coming in from the window helped to capture a stunning image of the bride.

Of course there was cake! It was made by White's Fine Cakes and Pastries, and yes, it was as delicious as it was beautiful.

Before Big Daddy Ray provided plenty of traditional Irish and traditional Greek music to get all the wedding guests on the floor, the bride and groom had their first dance together. The bride's dad started the ongoing theme for the night by showering them with money as they danced.

We were able to steal the couple away from the crowd for a few minutes to do some outdoor sunset photos.

The best way for you, the reader, to get a true glimpse of the day to watch Debbie & Joe's trailer video. Our hope is that they have internet access on their honeymoon, so they can watch this before they get home. Our heartfelt congratulations to a truly wonderful couple!

How important is a professional wedding video?

Survey says: less than 30% of couples hire a professional wedding videographer. The reasons are endless as to why people are against having a professional wedding video. Before the wedding:We can't afford it. (That's usually an automatic assumption in most cases.) We'll just have a friend tape the important parts. (Isn't the whole day important?) We'll never watch it. (Are you sure? Wouldn't your children would love to watch it someday? Your grandchildren...) Ugh! Those bright lights!! (Not when you hire Photo & Video by Joe Goldsberry.) Videographers? They are so obtrusive! (see above...)

And after the wedding: I wish I could remember your brother's speech! It brought everyone to tears! My dad was CRYING during our dance? I didn't notice! I can't believe gramma got out of her wheelchair and danced! I wish I could see that again! I missed WHAT during the cocktail hour? No way! I wish I could have seen THAT! Wow, who knows when everyone will be together like that again!

The one and only thing Marge Simpson went back into a burning house for? Yup. Her wedding video.

Ask someone who had a professional videographer film their wedding why they had it done, and what it means to them now. Take 2 minutes to watch this video we put together that brings it all together, and truly showcases why a professional wedding video will become such an important part of your family history. We made this video a few years ago, yet the message is still as strong as ever. Share this post with your engaged friends, and let them know why those who are on the fence about having their wedding filmed should give us a call to find out more.
