Nedina & Jeremy: The Bay Pointe Club { July 12, 2014 }

The weather was beautiful on Saturday July 12, and everything that day came together beautifully for Nedina & Jeremy as their family and friends joined them at The Bay Pointe Club to witness and celebrate their wedding day. They also had the bonus of a Super Moon on their wedding night.

Ashley & Keith at TJ Smith's Victorian House {April 19, 2014}

Ashley & Keith chose one of the quaintest spots on the South Shore for their wedding ceremony and reception. TJ Smith's Victorian House provides the setting that is overflowing with charm and beauty. Their charming chapel provides a unique way to keep all the events of the day at one venue. Ashley was able to get ready with her girls right on site.

Ashley is a vision of beauty, before and after the dress.

The ceremony went off without a hitch. From that first glimpse of his bride, to a recessional among family and friends, Keith could not have exuded a drop more of happiness.

Having an on-site chapel at TJ Smith's Victorian Chapel is a priceless amenity.

Plenty of gorgeous outdoor backdrop for some formal photos...

Laura & John: The Neighborhood Club {March 29, 2014}

Going through Laura & John's wedding photos to write this blog post, all I can say is "wow"! Surely one of the most fun-filled weddings I have photographed, starting with getting ready at the Quincy Marriott, during the ceremony at St. Agatha's in Milton and right through until the last dance at The Neighborhood Club, there wasn't one moment that didn't exude Laura & John's love for each other, and for their friends and family who joined them that day. Quincy Marriott

Laura & John's wedding at St. Agatha's was unique in that it was modernly steeped in tradition. A very cool priest, Rev. Murphy, let the day dictate itself instead of trying to run the show made for an easy-going, nicely flowing and worry free ceremony.

Laura & John choose a great venue for family and friends to gather for their reception. The Neighborhood Club helped to give them a wonderful night of great food, dancing and celebration that won't be forgotten.

Nicole & Kevin: An Indian Pond Country Club Wedding

Nicole & Kevin were married at one of our favorite venues, Indian Pond Country Club. Nestled in Kingston, Mass, Indian Pond is about as picturesque as it gets. With a beautiful rolling golf course as your backdrop, the perfect weather on Nicole & Kevin's wedding day only sweetened the deal. The beauty of an outdoor wedding ceremony at Indian Pond Country Club simply can not be beat!

With the promises and the "I do"s complete, the recessional made way to the  formal photos.

Beautiful flowers for a beautiful bride.

Always a perk at Indian Pond Country Club, golf carts to get you where you're going!

Another great feature is the bridge view, perfect for group photos. say cheese!

Classic, but casual.

After their grand entrance as husband and wife, Nicole & Kevin took to the dance floor.

Nicole's dance with her dad was surely one of the many highlights of his day.

A Saphire Estate Wedding: Jes & Josh

We photographed a wedding at Saphire Estate in Sharon, Mass. last month that could not possible have been more perfect. The bride, Jes, was an absolute joy to work with. Her groom, Josh, was an equal pleasure to his bride, truly a match made in heaven. The friends, the family, the vendors, the venue, the sunset... this is why I love my job. Outside Saphire Estate, the groom aunt officiated the ceremony for a special and persoanl touch.

It was especially cool that the groom's aunt, Hon. Beverly Weinger Boorstein, was officiating the ceremony. She was smooth and captivating, and had the guests mesmerized.

The recessional, man & wife, and a quick kiss...

The first dance is possibly one of the most pivotal events of the night. DJ Derek Holt from Entertainment Specialists was on hand to ensure that everything went as planned.

All eyes on the Saphire Estate dance floor are on Jes & Josh as they dance like no one is watching.

The traditional parent dances took a unique turn when both couples, bride & dad and groom & mom, took to the floor together.

Jes & her dad, and Josh & his mom share the dance floor for the parent dance.

The traditional dancing didn't stop there. The night couldn't be complete without a Hora.

Watch that ceiling! A Hora on the dancefloor at Saphire Estate brings out the best dancers!

A few moments stolen away from the crowd is treasured, because the day is over in the blink of an eye.

When you have a lake, an amazing sunset and a newly married couple, the next photo is a must.

Jen & Cody {July 6, 2013} The Neighborhood Club

With all the crazy weather we've had this season, Jen & Cody got lucky on their wedding day. It was warm with some clouds, and the rain stayed away. The alluring bride and her girls were getting ready at The Quincy Marriott, and so it was there Jen & Cody would also have their "first look". The stage is set, and Cody is anxiously awaiting his first look of his bride. This photo, one in a series, truly captures all of the emotion, excitement and bliss that is happening and that is to come...

Jen & Cody: first look in the courtyard at Quincy Marriott.

And once their eyes have met, the anxiety melts into a calm serenity that will set the mood for the rest of the day.

A kiss for luck and we're on our way... (We've only just begun).

When one arrives to their wedding, we always suggest you arrive in style...

A toast to say "we're ready to do this!"

Jen & Cody's wedding ceremony was nothing short of spectacular. One of Jen's bridesmaids, Julia, doubled as their officiant. The colors were amazing, the smiles were stunning and the words they spoke were both personal and winsome.

Jen walks down the aisle to meet Cody to exchange vows.

Once everyone was in place, Julia was by her friends, upfront and center, to help them exchange the vows that will change their lives forever in a few short moments.

You can't get married without your best friends by your side...

Now it's official, and it's just about time to celebrate!

They've made their promises to each other, and that's cause for celebration!

There's always time for an extra hug, a well wish, a moment to reflect.

Always take that extra moment to stop and hug the ones you love.

Jen & Cody had Epic Entertainment on hand to take over the Master of Ceremonies and entertainment for the evening. Bring in the wedding party, and start the fête!

DJ Sheldon Gentles announces everyone into the room to get this party started.

First things first, and that's the first dance.

Jen & Cody's first dance: Where Are You Going by The Dave Matthews Band

A wedding day is full of "firsts" and traditions, and Jen & Cody did not leave out the tradition of the wedding cake. The wedding cake dates back to ancient Rome, and generally symbolizes good luck to and for the new couple. Jen & Cody's wedding cake, by White's Bakery, fits the bill.

Jen & Cody's wedding cake, made by White's Bakery, was an obvious hit, but the looks on their faces.

As the night wore on, there was much tripping the light fantastic attended to and performed by all. You'll have to check in with Jen & Cody for more photographic proof, but here's one peek...

(Well don't skip romance beause) you're old enough to dance the night away... Dance, dance, dance the night away....

As the night winded down, we knew what a great wedding we had on our hands (and in our cameras). You, the reader, may or may not know Jen & Cody personally, but we think you'll feel like you know them after reading their wedding blog post. A wonderful, fun couple who have a lifetime together ahead of them, we wish them well as they endeavor into married life.

Saying good night with a dip at the enterance to The Neighborhood Club!

You Can't Know Where You're Going Until You Know Where You've Been...

2012 was a great year for Photo & Video by Joe Goldsberry. We've truly been blessed to have met so many wonderful people who started out as clients and became friends. We are also very aware, as a small business, how lucky we are to have acquired so many wonderful clients. As we all enter 2013 together, we'd like to take a look back at some highlights from 2012. We hope we can make some of you smile, as many of you have made us smile, ear to ear. In 2012 we met a local Bon Jovi tribute band, Living on a Bad Name, and came out to photograph and film some of their shows. Here are a couple of our favorite photos of them, taken at an outdoor concert in Dartmouth, Mass.

We took a poll earlier in the year, and found that our FaceBook audience loves baby photos more than any other!

Of course, when babies grow up, they become kids. Kids can make for some really great portraits. (They tend to take direction better than babies...)

Family photos are meant to last a life time, and this brother and sister will cherish this photo when they have kids of their own.

And we can't forget the weddings! This photo is our "most clicked" FaceBook photo. It was "liked" almost 150 times, and viewed well over 2,000 times.

Perfectly beautiful and oh so colorful brides maids!

We've photographed weddings of all sizes this past year, and one of the smallest took place at the Church Street Chapel in Whitman. Stacie and Justin had only a handful of family and friends witness their wedding, but this photo shows the love that filled the room.

We were also asked to photograph and film the same wedding, a first for us. The bride and groom, Debbie and Joe, could not have been happier with the outcome. With a beautiful traditional ceremony at The Christ Church in Plymouth, followed by a fun-filled ceremony in Norton, we managed to capture everything they asked for on both photo and video.

Of course we could go on and on, showcasing so many babies, kids, families, brides, grooms, people and places. But we'll wrap up this "look back" by showing you the highlight video from one of our most famous weddings of 2012. Deanna and CJ had their Easton Country Club wedding showcased on TLC's Four Weddings. This highlight video was our most shared blog post, shared 175 times on FaceBook.

Britany & Michael: Public Gardens at Sunset

Having your wedding in Boston has its advantages and one of them is having your formal wedding photos taken at the Boston Public Garden. Britany & Michael recited their vows at St. Peter's Church in South Boston. St. Peter's is a beautiful, historic Catholic church in the heart of South Boston.

Following the wedding ceremony, the bridal party boarded a trolley to make the short trip to the Public Garden. The sun was setting just as we arrived.

The reception was held at Florian Hall in Dorchester where Britany & Michael danced the night away with all of their guests.

August 18, 2012 {Amy & Steve} Their Awesome Greek Wedding!

Amy & Steve didn't let a little rain get in the way of having the absolute best wedding day ever. First things first, take a look at the amazing detail on Amy's gorgeous dress.

The ceremony was a traditional Greek wedding, held at St. Catherine's in Braintree.

Every groom needs a best man by his side, and Steve had his...

The ceremony was steeped in Greek tradition.

The crowns play a very important part of the ceremony. The crowns are said to be a visual reminder of what awaits us in Heaven, but they also are said to symbolize that the couple has just become King and Queen of their newly created family.

Another beautiful shot of the ceremony...

Every ceremony ends with "You may kiss the bride"...

Time for one last shot outside the church, before we head out to The Tirrell Room for Amy & Steve's reception.

We started with some indoor "formals", thanks to Mother Nature and her pesky rain drops.

Mother Nature was kind at some times during the day, and allowed us to get some outdoor photos.

Amy & Steve's first dance together as man and wife may have left only a few dry eyes in the house.

In case you were wondering if there was cake, the answer is: of course there was cake, silly!! Thank you, Montillio's Baking Company!

Mother Nature gave us a little reprieve later in the night, and we will close with one of those outdoor, end of the night shots...

Our congratulations to Amy & Steve, as well as our thanks for allowing us to be their wedding day photographer.

{July 14, 2012} Kimberly + Steven @ The Monponsett Inn = wedded bliss!

The day was full of "perfect". The gazebo, the details, the weather... the bride and the groom. Kim and Steve choose a beautiful spot in Halifax for their wedding day. The Monponsett Inn, with its gazebo and water views lends itself to being a premier ceremony and reception location on the South Shore. Check out some of the details that made their wedding unique, and made their guests "ooohhhh" and "aaahhhh"...

And did I mention the gazebo? The Monponsett Inn is well-known for their gazebo view. It's no wonder so many people choose to get married here.

You've seen the details, you've seen the gazebo. But what you're really here to see is the bride and groom. Seeing the groom watch his bride walk down the aisle is a shot that cannot be recreated. It's a once in a lifetime look that speaks a thousand words.

Steve and Kim were married among family and friends outdoors. The sheer happiness of the day is evident at every moment throughout the day and night.

Dinner and dancing followed their wedding ceremony well into the night. A packed dance floor set the scene for a night of festive celebration.

Please, have a seat!

One of the later aspects of wedding planning is a seating plan for the guests at the reception. People can sometimes get quite creative when it comes to showing their guest where to sit. We've all seen the pretty little place cards, directing people to their table number, such as these little bow tied cards.

At Photo & Video by Joe Goldsberry, we've taken the "where to sit" to a whole new level by offering our custom seating charts. They are custom-made for each client, and limited only by your imagination. We don't use templates, and that makes them like snowflakes. (No two are alike!)

The photo we use can be one we took if we did your engagement session, or it can be a photo that you provide. (Photos from other professional photographers must have a print release from the photographer to be used). We've done both horizontal and vertical, and our size choices are 16X20, 20X30 and 24X36. You can have your seating chart made as a print that you can frame, or we can have it mounted onto a foam core backing for you.

Check out the guest list from our "prototype" seating chart. We only attended this wedding in our head.

We have a few of these charts at our studio in downtown Whitman, so if you are in the area and want to see what they look like in person, stop by. Check out a few examples and pricing of our custom seating charts, and let us know what you think of them.

A Tuesday Wedding? Why Not?!

After over 30 years in the wedding industry, we're seeing a new trend starting to emerge. The weekday wedding. And we say... "Why not?!" There are seven days in the week, and where is it written that you can only celebrate your wedding day on three of those days? When Nir and Yamit first came to us looking for a wedding photographer, they hadn't even decided on a venue yet. The one thing they knew for sure was they would be married on a Tuesday. A weekday wedding made it easier for family and friends who were not local to attend. This would be out first Tuesday wedding, and another first for us - we were able to recommend the venue to the couple (usually the first thing a couple books). And so it was set, the ceremony and reception to take place at The Easton Country Club. We were also able to recommend a great videographer for the couple, Cupid Productions, via our special photo/video package.

So now you are wondering, a Tuesday wedding? How many people really come out for a Tuesday wedding? I can tell you (and I can show you, via photos) that this wedding was no less full of love, laughter and excitement than any of the other hundreds of weddings we have shot. Family and friends from all over showed up to wish Nir and Yamit well, and to bear witness to their union as man and wife.

And so, while we can't predict if the weekday wedding will become a new trend or just an occasional event, we can tell you that we do already have our next one booked for June, 2012. Stay tuned...
